Counselling
Counselling sessions involve an informal chat, online or over the phone. Often, today’s problems are rooted in the past, so we’ll tackle it from the source by discussing themes such as your childhood, relationships, or any significant events in your life. This is a completely confidential, safe zone that is free from judgement.
Cognitive behavioural therapy
While counselling may involve some exercises, CBT uses practical methods to get us out of negative thought patterns. It helps us confront our biggest fears through techniques such as exposure therapy – helping you to break down negative emotions one step at a time.
Neuro-linguistic programming
NLP is another technique to encourage us to change bad habits. This technique links communication to behaviour, and uses exercises such as turning sensory experiences into certain emotional states. We use NLP to try to disassociate ourselves from unpleasant past events.
Of course, everybody is different and we rarely use any one of these in isolation. Pink Bird offers an integrated approach, encompassing the principles of each of these techniques. If we’re not sure, we’ll try another – it’s as simple as that!
